Andrew Abbott’s Dominance on Display as Reds Face A’s in Cactus League Clash

Remember those times when Andrew Abbott seems unbeatable? He made a striking debut with the Cincinnati Reds last year, delivering six stellar starts where he only allowed 5 earned runs in 37.1 innings. One standout performance was against the tough San Diego Padres, where he pitched 7.2 innings, conceding just one earned run while striking out 12 batters.

This knack for dominance isn’t new for Abbott. He previously set a team record for the most scoreless innings at the start of his Major League career. His remarkable streaks of consecutive shutouts in the minors, including three in May 2022 over 17.2 innings and another three to end the season over 16.0 innings, demonstrate his consistency.

Today, Abbott takes the mound for the Reds in a Cactus League matchup against the Oakland A’s in Goodyear. Unfortunately, the game won’t be televised, though it’s a disappointment given the strong lineup the Reds are fielding. Notably, TJ Friedl and Will Benson will be playing in back-to-back games.

The game kicks off at 3:05 PM ET, and you can catch the action on 700 WLW or the MLB At-Bat app.
