This move comes as Apple TV+ reintroduces its Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders, enabling subscribers to enjoy two games per week. This trend underscores the growing dominance of subscription-based streaming services in sports broadcasting, gradually eclipsing traditional cable offerings.
The Dodgers will feature in the first doubleheader on March 29, as they square off against the St. Louis Cardinals in their inaugural home series. Following the New York Yankees versus Houston Astros game, the Dodgers-Cardinals matchup will be the second game of the evening.
The second Dodgers game on Apple TV+ is scheduled for June 7, where they will face the Yankees in the Bronx. Apple TV+ has unveiled only the initial half of its weekly doubleheader agenda for the 2024 season, extending up to June 28. This suggests the possibility of additional Dodgers games being aired on the platform beyond the two already announced.
Given the presence of notable players such as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts, it’s plausible that Apple TV+ may opt to broadcast more Dodgers games during the latter part of the 2024 season.
