Chelsea is expected to sign a young Brazilian full-back before Real Madrid does.

Real Madrid's Persistent Hunt for Talent in Brazil

Real Madrid has no intention of slowing down their scouting trip in Brazil, even with the acquisition of Endrick, the offensive sensation for Palmeiras.

Pedro Lima has lately emerged as one of the players for whom the club is reportedly connected to moves around Brazil.

Lima is a right-back by trade, but lately, European teams have taken an interest in him because of his amazing speed and capacity for darting runs down the flanks, which allows them to sign him for a lower price.

Pedro Lima is viewed by Real Madrid as an intriguing long-term replacement for the aging Dani Carvajal.

Lima is close to signing with Chelsea.

But all the signs point to Chelsea being closer to signing Pedro Lima this season, and Real Madrid losing out on the fight to get him.

According to AS, Chelsea may have accelerated negotiations to reach an agreement with Sporting Recife for Lima in recent days.

The Premier League’s biggest clubs plan to pay about €7.5 million plus an additional €3 million in incentives, making the defender’s total market worth €10.5 million.

For his part, Lima has inked a five-year contract that will expire in 2029, with an annual salary of €800,000. He might not, however, join Chelsea’s starting lineup right away.

For Real Madrid, what comes next?

Real Madrid will now have to look elsewhere for a right-back to ultimately take Carvajal’s spot, since Pedro Lima is no longer a possibility.

Achraf Hakimi, a PSG star and former junior player, is apparently eager to return to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid would be best advised to pursue a more affordable alternative given the current circumstances, since signing the Moroccan might prove to be an expensive affair.
