Chelsea to Hijack Arsenal transfer target for €60 million

Chelsea are ready to pounce on Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this January, despite links with Arsenal.

The Belgian international has performed brilliantly at Goodison Park, and this might lead to a significant move away; however, it appears that he won’t come cheap, as his asking price is rumored to be over €60 million.

Onana might undoubtedly be useful at Arsenal, where Thomas Partey’s season hasn’t started due to injury, but Chelsea would probably benefit from having the gifted 22-year-old join their team as well.

The Blues aren’t playing at their best right now, so Onana could be the perfect addition to add some physicality to a midfield that includes smaller players like Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. Conor Gallagher, who is getting close to finishing his Stamford Bridge contract, could also be a cause for concern.

Onana will undoubtedly leap at the chance to join Arsenal or Chelsea, as he would be avoiding Everton’s impending relegation struggle.

However, given that he might be essential to the Toffees’ success this season, they should aim to hold onto him for as long as possible.
