Erik ten Hag sends message to Jadon Sancho after Man Utd exit

Erik ten Hag wished Jadon Sancho well after winger sealed a loan exit from Old Trafford.

Sancho, who has been out of action since his public altercation with Ten Hag in September, has returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season in an effort to jumpstart his career.

Ten Hag questioned Sancho’s level of training after leaving the winger off his matchday squad to play Arsenal; nevertheless, Sancho responded on social media. The 23-year-old said he was singled out for criticism and that his lack of apology for his remarks caused him to be cut from the starting lineup.

Now that the saga was, for the time being, finished, Ten Hag was eager to go on with his life.

“I hope he’s doing well, so good luck to him,” Ten Hag said at the press conference on Friday. “That concludes it. I’m hoping all is good with him and that he succeeds.”

The Manager quickly added, “I replied [to previous question], I think it’s enough,” in response to a follow-up inquiry about Sancho.

The option for a permanent move is not included in Sancho’s loan agreement with Dortmund, since Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl has publicly acknowledged that his team could not afford to make such a transaction.

However, Kehl noted that if United’s financial demands are fair, a permanent move might be reviewed in the summer. When Sancho comes to Old Trafford, his contract will have two years left on it, but United has the option to extend it by an additional year.

Sancho, who cost £73 million when he signed in 2021, is expected to increase his transfer worth at Dortmund, where, prior to his unfortunate move to Manchester, he amassed 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games.
