‘It has been a fantastic 2023 for the Club’, David Moyes says after Big win over Arsenal

After West Ham United humbled Arsenal 2-0 on the road to cap off an incredible 2023, David Moyes was all praise for his team. Recall that a win for Arsenal would have taken them to the top of the table. Moyes secured his first ever victory on away grounds against Arsenal in all competitions thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

At the end he said; “What about 2023 for us as a club? It’s been fantastic. And thankfully we’ve finished it off in great fashion today,” “We’ve lost a couple of games conceding five in recent weeks, which I’ve hated. I try not to get my teams to do that, but tonight we’ve defended really well,” he added.

Playmaker Lucas Paqueta, who had looked injured during pregame warm-up, was eventually forced off and replaced by Said Benrahma, dealing a fatal blow to West Ham shortly after the half-hour mark.

“We had two different centre-halves tonight, we lost Paqueta after he picked up an injury in the warm-up. “So there were lots of things going against us, but I have to say it was a brilliant resolute performance. “They did everything together, they worked so hard together and we could have even got another right at the end there from the penalty,” Moyes added.

After victories over top-six rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and now Arsenal, West Ham’s victory in north London marked their third straight league triumph.
