Former Chelsea star slams players for “letting down” Mauricio Pochettino

Former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge feels that the club’s high-spending administration has to support Mauricio Pochettino more because his players are failing the manager.

Bridge is perplexed by Chelsea’s “crazy” hiring practices but believes Pochettino is still the best choice to revive success in West London, the team still needs work. This is despite the fact that the club has invested over £1 billion in improvements.

Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final was Chelsea’s most recent setback. And since they lack the mental fortitude to rally from a deficit, Bridge believes that loss was a tidy description of their season thus far.

In addition, Bridge is cautioning Chelsea’s management not to offload academy product Conor Gallagher. The midfield player has been linked to a sale since the club would profit financially from any transaction as they look to enhance the team even more and make sure they don’t run into any problems with financial fair play.
