Las Vegas Raiders bothered as Patriots and Seahawks make moves.

Now that the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots have made their big announcements, a quarter of the NFL is formally searching for a new head coach. in will set the stage for an intense off-season in spring.

After leading the Seahawks to two Super Bowl victories, including one in 2014, Pete Carroll announced his resignation on Wednesday. The 72-year-old will now serve as an advisor to the team.

After 24 years and six Lombardi Trophies—the last one arriving in 2018—the legendary Bill Belichick shocked the sports world a day later by leaving the Patriots.

Even though the Seahawks were only ranked as the fourth-best coaching position available, it means the teams already fighting for the attention of potential new head coaches now have to contend with two of the league’s most illustrious clubs.

Though none more so than the Las Vegas Raiders, whose own interim head coach, Antonio Pierce, may be on the verge of being plucked, it gives the other six front offices a headache.

The Raiders were one of just two teams, until yesterday’s major news, who had not asked an outside candidate for head coach. The other, the Atlanta Falcons, have since sought an interview with in-demand Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, as per NFL Network source Tom Pelissero.

However, the Tennessee Titans have now asked the Raiders to interview Pierce for their own head coach position, even though no interviews have been scheduled.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the AFC South team may consider using Pierce in place of Mike Vrabel. However, he also hinted that Pierce would likely have an interview with the Raiders.

Although other clubs are also excited about Pierce, like the Seahawks and Patriots, Davis is the one who is most eager to see him in person.

If not, two of the most prestigious positions in America are suddenly up for grabs, making the Raiders’ search for a new head coach all the more difficult.
