Leeds United Players Avoid Suspension Threat as Yellow Card Threshold Passes

Leeds United players no longer face the risk of a two-game suspension as they have surpassed the threshold of accumulating 10 yellow cards in the recent match against Sheffield Wednesday.

Their victory in the 37th game of the Championship season, defeating local rivals Wednesday 2-0, propelled them to second place in the table with 11 wins in their last 12 unbeaten league matches. The defensive prowess of Ampadu and Rodon has been remarkable, contributing to nine clean sheets since the beginning of the year.

Despite being on the brink of suspension with eight and seven yellow cards respectively, both players have dodged the possibility of a ban with the passing of the 37-game mark.

This achievement means that Leeds will complete the Championship season without any player facing suspension due to accumulated yellow cards. While Rodon had previously missed a game due to a red card, the team aims to maintain discipline to avoid unnecessary fouls and subsequent suspensions, as emphasized by their coach.

Barring unforeseen red cards, Leeds can now anticipate the remaining nine games of the season without suspension concerns. Coach Farke anticipates having a nearly complete squad to choose from each week, with only Struijk and Dallas currently sidelined, though Struijk is expected to return after the international break.
