Joe Rodon has already been linked with Leicester City this summer – and has enjoyed a special relationship with Steve Cooper in the past
After six months, Steve Cooper has returned to management, this time in the East Midlands.
The former Swansea City boss has been appointed as Enzo Maresca’s successor at Leicester City, who swiftly returned to the Premier League after clinching the Championship title last season. Following his successful tenure with Nottingham Forest, who controversially parted ways with him in December, Leicester will rely on Cooper to solidify their top-flight status next season, aiming to reclaim their place among England’s elite.
Cooper faces several pressing matters upon arrival, notably in recruitment, and the 44-year-old likely has specific ideas on how to bolster the squad for Premier League competition.
Interestingly, there have been early rumors linking Leicester with one of Cooper’s former proteges.
Joe Rodon seems poised to depart Tottenham before the transfer window closes, with Leeds United showing interest despite his standout loan spell there last season. Cooper’s presence at Leicester could sway Rodon towards the King Power Stadium, given their previous successful collaboration at Swansea.
Unsurprisingly, mutual respect between the two is evident. Rodon praised Cooper shortly after his appointment, highlighting their positive rapport and shared ambitions.
