Leslie Frazier Chooses Seattle Seahawks over Miami Dolphins as Dolphins Narrow Down Defensive Coordinator Search

This week, Leslie Frazier, the former defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, had an interview with the Miami Dolphins.

However, he has ultimately chosen to become the assistant head coach for the Seattle Seahawks. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero pointed out Frazier’s prior collaboration with Mike MacDonald, who was recently appointed as the head coach of the Seahawks.

Frazier, who previously served as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons, boasts a substantial background as a defensive coordinator for four different teams since 2003. He joined the Bills in 2017 as the defensive coordinator and later earned a promotion to assistant head coach in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins’ search for a defensive coordinator is narrowing down, with five candidates currently in consideration out of the initial eight interviewed. Among them, Bills linebackers coach Bobby Babich and Los Angeles Rams pass rush coach Chris Shula have both secured promotions to defensive coordinator positions.

The list of candidates also includes Brandon Staley, Anthony Campanile, Ryan Slowik, Anthony Weaver, and Chris Kiffin. This pursuit follows the Dolphins’ decision to part ways with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio after just one year, with Fangio subsequently taking on the role of defensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles.
