Matthew Judon Calls for Offensive Improvement as Patriots Prepare for 2024 Season

After sustaining a bicep injury in Week 4 that ended his season, Matthew Judon witnessed the New England Patriots struggle offensively throughout a disappointing 4-13 campaign.

During the 2023 season, the Patriots ranked third lowest in total yards and tied with the Carolina Panthers for the lowest scoring output, averaging just 13.9 points per game. With Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe rotating at quarterback, the offense consistently failed to provide ample support, placing excessive pressure on the defense to perform flawlessly week after week.

Speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Felger and Mazz” show, Judon expressed his frustration, emphasizing his primary desire for the offense to generate points and sustain drives, regardless of who takes the helm under center.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Judon has a singular hope for his offensive teammates, irrespective of the quarterback situation. Despite the challenges, he believes both Mac and Zappe possess the necessary skills to succeed but emphasizes that it’s ultimately up to them to deliver on the field.

As the Patriots gear up for the 2024 campaign under new head coach Jerod Mayo, Judon, entering a contract year, aims to see a significant improvement in the team’s performance.
