Miami Dolphins Extend Punter Jake Bailey’s Contract for Two Years

The Miami Dolphins have secured the services of their punter for the upcoming seasons. Jake Bailey has inked a two-year contract with the team, as confirmed by various sources. This agreement comes just before Bailey was set to hit the unrestricted free agent market.

Bailey, who joined the Dolphins last season, showcased his skills with an average punt distance of 45.7 yards and a net average of 40.7 yards on 53 punts. Impressively, he managed to pin 20 of those punts inside the 20-yard line while only recording three touchbacks.

Previously drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2019 draft, Bailey spent his initial four seasons with them. Throughout his career spanning 75 games, he has maintained a career average punt distance of 45.9 yards with a net average of 40.9 yards. Furthermore, he has successfully landed 44.4 percent of his punts inside the 20-yard line.
