Quarterback Mitch Trubisky Signs Two-Year Deal with Buffalo Bills

Quarterback Mitch Trubisky has inked a two-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, as announced on Thursday. The financial details were not disclosed by the team. Trubisky, 29, recently ended his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers by mutual agreement, leaving behind two years on a three-year, $19.4 million contract.

This move marks Trubisky’s return to Western New York, where he spent the 2021 season supporting Josh Allen, with minimal game time, completing 6 of 8 passes for 43 yards and rushing for 24 yards and a touchdown over six games, without any starts.

Trubisky’s journey saw him join the Steelers as a free agent in 2022, coinciding with Pittsburgh drafting quarterback Kenny Pickett in the first round. Despite initially starting the season as Pittsburgh’s main quarterback, Trubisky soon stepped aside for Pickett.

In 2023, Trubisky made two starts due to Pickett’s injuries and performance dips before the Steelers switched to Mason Rudolph, who helped secure a wild-card berth. Trubisky’s time with the Steelers saw him play in 12 games, starting seven, completing 64.1% of his passes for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while also scoring four rushing touchdowns.

Since his entry into the NFL as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 draft by the Chicago Bears, Trubisky has accumulated 12,536 passing yards, 72 touchdowns, and 48 interceptions across 69 games, with 57 starts spanning his tenure with the Bears (2017-2020), Bills, and Steelers. His career record as a starter stands at 31 wins and 26 losses.
