Scottie Pippen and Chicago Bulls Legends Tour Australia: Insights, Departures, and All-Star Reflections

The NBL, in collaboration with TEG Live, is orchestrating a remarkable speaking tour featuring Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen alongside his championship-winning teammates Luc Longley and Horace Grant, set to take place in Australia.

Dubbed the ‘NO BULL’ tour and sponsored by Coca-Cola, the event commences on February 23rd at MyState Bank Arena in Tasmania, followed by stops in Melbourne on February 24th at Margaret Court Arena, and Sydney on February 27th at ICC Sydney.

This tour promises to unveil captivating narratives and memories from the triumphant Bulls era of the 1990s, showcasing the synergy of Pippen, Longley, and Grant, integral members of what many consider one of basketball’s greatest teams ever.

Pippen, a celebrated Hall of Famer, boasts an illustrious career with numerous accolades, including recognition in the NBA’s top 50 & 75 players of all time, seven NBA All-Star selections, three All-NBA First Team nominations, eight NBA All-Defensive First Team nods, and two Olympic Gold Medals (1992 and 1996). His return to Australia follows his role as the official ambassador for the NBL season launch in September, where he expressed admiration for the league’s competitive nature and growing global awareness.

Horace Grant, a pivotal figure in Chicago’s championship journey during 1991-1993, earned NBA All-Star honors in 1994 with the Orlando Magic and achieved further success with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001, capturing his fourth title. Meanwhile, Luc Longley, an esteemed figure in Australian basketball, contributed significantly to the Bulls’ second three-peat from 1996-1998, showcasing defensive prowess and exceptional passing skills.

The ‘NO BULL’ tour, emceed by actor and entertainer Shane Jacobson, offers Australian basketball enthusiasts an exclusive opportunity to delve into the experiences of playing alongside Michael Jordan, being mentored by the visionary Phil Jackson, overcoming challenges during championship campaigns, and more.

In another NBA development, the Brooklyn Nets parted ways with head coach Jacque Vaughn due to concerns within the organization regarding his impact on the team’s pursuit of elite talent. Vaughn’s tenure, which began in November 2022, concluded with his dismissal after a mixed record.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis weighed in on the current state of the NBA All-Star contest, reflecting on the balance between entertainment and player safety amidst declining competitiveness.

Steph Curry expressed optimism about the Golden State Warriors’ future, reaffirming his commitment to the team alongside fellow champions Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Despite challenges, Curry believes in the team’s ability to maintain competitiveness and uphold their legacy.

The Los Angeles Clippers’ acquisition of James Harden has seen initial struggles followed by a resurgence, attributed to coach Ty Lue’s adept management of a roster featuring multiple All-Star veterans.

The recent NBA All-Star game witnessed an unprecedented performance from the East, led by Damian Lillard, who showcased his prowess with an outstanding display of shooting, securing the MVP accolade.
