West Ham United give permission as star player set to quite on Deadline Day in multi-million move

Pablo Fornals is authorized by West Ham to communicate with Real Betis in order to finalize a permanent deadline-day transfer agreement.

The two clubs have agreed on a fee of approximately £7 million, and the Spaniard will now start negotiations.

Fornals was expected to depart from the London Stadium this month, as negotiations persisted during the transfer window. However, it appears like he will seal the deal prior to the 11 p.m. deadline.

Fornals’s time at West Ham may not have ended on the highest note—Mohammed Kudus’ arrival turned him into a backup—but he will always be warmly remembered in East London despite Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta’s recent form turns.

While Bowen’s winning goal in the championship game may grab the credit, the Spaniard’s strike against AZ in the Europa Conference League semi-final put the Hammers on the path to European silverware that many in attendance at the AZ game will never forget.

Fornals has only made 15 appearances for the Hammers this season, the most of which have come off the bench. It was always anticipated that Fornals would leave East London prior to the deadline.

His contract was supposed to expire at the end of the current campaign, but West Ham decided to extend it by one year in order to collect a fee. This was a wise move, as the £7 million offer has already been accepted.
