What is PSG’s asking price for Xavi Simons amid interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Arsenal?

Bayern MunichManchester United and Arsenal have discovered the asking price of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons, according to a report.

Simons has established himself as one of the most sought-after attackers this summer following a successful 2023-24 season on loan at RB Leipzig that came after a productive year at PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutchman recorded 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances in the 2022-23 season at PSV Eindhoven, which prompted PSG to trigger the £5.1m buy-back clause in his contract last summer.

Simons was immediately loaned out to Leipzig, though, and excelled for the German club last season, scoring 10 goals and registering 15 assists in 43 games across all competitions.

After representing the Netherlands at Euro 2024, Simons is set to return to PSG, where he is under contract until June 2027, but it remains to be seen whether Luis Enrique wishes to integrate the 21-year-old into his first-team squad next season.

Rising star Xavi Simons is attracting considerable interest from several top European clubs amid uncertainties surrounding his future. Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal have both shown interest in the attacker, with reports indicating that United view him as a potential successor to Marcus Rashford. Arsenal, on the other hand, have reportedly deployed scouts to monitor Simons as Mikel Arteta contemplates bolstering his forward line for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

However, both English giants face strong competition from Bayern Munich, as Bild has highlighted the Bundesliga club’s keen interest in Simons, considering him a major transfer target for this summer.

Bayern Munich, where director Max Eberl previously signed Xavi Simons during his tenure at Leipzig last season, is reportedly eager to secure the Dutchman’s services this summer. However, according to Bild, Bayern would need to pay around €100 million (£84.4 million) to convince PSG to part ways with Simons, just a year after paying a similar fee for star striker Harry Kane.

The reported valuation by PSG factors in that PSV Eindhoven is entitled to a portion of any transfer fee earned from Simons until the summer of 2025.

Under new manager Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich is preparing for an active summer transfer window, having already completed the €30 million signing of Stuttgart defender Hiroki Ito. The club is also reportedly targeting other players such as Joao Palhinha from Fulham, Federico Chiesa from Juventus, Chris Fuhrich from Stuttgart, and Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.
